Retained advisory support provides ongoing access to independent, senior judgement on learning design and accessibility decisions that have meaningful consequences but do not justify a full project.

It exists for situations where the cost of getting a decision wrong is high, but commissioning delivery capacity would be unnecessary, slow, or misaligned.

This support is deliberately bounded, asynchronous, and low‑overhead for both sides.

A short follow‑up exchange is included to clarify any responses where needed.

What this support helps reduce

Clients typically use retained advisory support to reduce the risk of:

locking in design decisions that later prove hard to justify or undo
accessibility concerns surfacing late, when only disruptive or resource‑intensive fixes remain
over‑engineered solutions driven by anxiety rather than need
internal agreement masking unresolved pedagogical or inclusion problems
senior sign‑off being given without independent challenge

The value lies in timely, external judgement, not in volume of interaction.

What this is

Retained advisory support provides light‑touch, professional input via email or shared documents. It is suited to:

sense‑checking decisions before they are finalised
reviewing drafts at a strategic or pedagogical level
testing assumptions where internal agreement feels too easy
asking focused questions about learning design, accessibility, or inclusive practice
clarifying where trade‑offs exist and which risks are being accepted
identifying where decisions are being made too quickly or without sufficient scrutiny

This is advisory input only, not consultancy, delivery, or project work.

How it works

Communication is asynchronous (email or shared document comments)
No meetings, calls, or live sessions
Responses are provided within an agreed response window
Support is capped, scoped, and explicitly limited

This structure is intentional: it keeps the focus on judgement rather than dependency.

What’s included

Each month includes one of the following:

Up to two discrete advisory queries, or
Review of up to two short documents (typically up to 3 pages or 1,500 words each)

Notes:

Queries must be clearly scoped and answerable within a single response
Unused queries do not roll over
Each query or review should stand alone

What’s not included

To keep this sustainable and high‑quality, retained advisory support does not include:

drafting or rewriting content
delivery, facilitation, or implementation work
iterative back‑and‑forth on the same material
unlimited questions
urgent or same‑day turnaround

If a query indicates the need for more substantial intervention, I will recommend an alternative service or a separate piece of paid work.

Fees

Retained advisory support is offered on a monthly basis.

£180 per month, with a commitment review every three months to ensure the scope still fits your needs.

Intended for individuals or teams who need occasional, high‑quality input rather than ongoing consultancy. Places are intentionally limited.

Who this is for

This option is most effective if you:

value independent, experienced judgement
want to prevent problems rather than remediate them later
prefer clear, bounded professional input
are comfortable working asynchronously

If you are seeking delivery capacity, hands‑on consultancy, or extensive iterative support, this will not be the right fit.

How to enquire

If you think this support might be appropriate, please get in touch with:

a brief description of your role or organisation
the type of questions or materials you expect to bring (e.g. strategy outlines, module plans, draft guidance)
confirmation that asynchronous support is suitable

I’ll confirm fit before taking anything forward.
